Flaire The Spellblade

My first character mod, originally made for DS and then ported to DST. I created this mod from scratch: A process involving art, animation, coding, mechanic design and sound design. Here are some of Flaire's features:

  • Flaire has a unique stat visualised by a custom widget.

  • She can cast unique spells which deal damage to enemies, heal, or support her allies and herself.

  • Spells can be switched between by simply clicking on her widget or by use of configurable hotkeys.

  • Includes unique weapons, items and structures each with their own scripted features.

  • Mod adds functionality and interactions with existing vanilla items.

  • Compatibility and interactions with other mods such as Combined Status, Status Announcements, Uncompromising Mode, [API] Modded Skins and more.

  • More details can be found on the workshop page!

Wieneke The Lemure

My most ambitious character mod, created from scratch for DST. Wieneke has the ability to control any creature or object in the Constant by possessing them. There are many moving parts to this mechanic on a technical level:

  • A custom action is used to initiate possession.

  • Creatures are placed within the player's control by clever use of DST's foundational systems. Possessed creatures can move, attack, perform actions, emote, and more.

  • Even modded creatures are able to be controlled, though with varying success: This entirely depends on how closely the modder has adhered to Klei's existing framework.

  • Unlike other mods that have previously allowed for creature control, Wieneke's system is fully compatible with the Lag Compensation setting.

Wieneke's system allows for unique scripted actions and effects for each possessed creature or object. For example:

  • The Clockwork Rook can build up special smoke stacks while charging, indicated by a custom VFX. Each smoke stack multiplies its damage output. When the Rook rams into an enemy, the smoke stacks are consumed.

  • The Gobbler can quickly harvest plants with a custom action. Picked items go into its inventory, and are dropped on the ground when Wieneke stops possessing it.

There are many more features/details to Wieneke, which can be found on her workshop page!

Warrick, the Unsung Hero by JUSTICEBEETLE

A lovely character mod designed by the excellent JUSTICEBEETLE. I was asked to do all of the complex code for Warrick. Some of his features include:

  • Warrick has his own companion, a sword named Quixote: Similarly to Lucy and Woodie, Quixote can talk and can only be equipped by Warrick. If Quixote is somehow lost, he can be made anew by attacking a target with a regular spear.

  • Warrick can perform a dash-attack using Quixote: This utilizes the same system Wigfrid uses for her Elding Spear.

  • Warrick's dash plays a flamboyant VFX that makes transformative use of built-in DST assets!

  • Warrick can craft upgrades for Quixote: For example, a blue gem will transform him into Ice Quixote, which cools down Warrick when held, and has a chance to freeze enemies with each attack.

  • JUSTICEBEETLE designed a fully unique skill tree for Warrick, granting him a mountain of additional perks and additions! There is a lot: I recommend checking out his workshop page for more information.

Prices

Prices are decided based on the complexity of your request, as well as the time it will take to complete.
Below is a guide for how much a commission is likely to cost, going from the cheapest for simple requests, to the most expensive for large and complex requests.

Simple Character/Item Set-Up: €5 EUR.
A simple character/item with customized stats, ready to play with in-game, but with no special perks. Think Wilson but with your art slotted in.
Small Bug Fix: €10-15 EUR.
A bug or crash fix for an existing mod that I believe won't take very long to resolve.
Small Feature: €10-15 EUR.
For example, adding a simple custom action to a character, increasing a character's movement speed under certain conditions, making an item explode when picked up, etc.
Complex Feature: €15-50 EUR.
For example, setting up a unique stat and widget for an existing character that the player can interact with in unique ways.
Complex Bug Fix: €15-50 EUR.
You have a moderate to large/complicated mod with a non-trivial bug or crash that could be difficult to reproduce.
Character Mod Code: €50-300 EUR.
You've got the art, I'll deal with the code. Set-up, actions, hotkeys, networking, special perks, and any other agreed upon features will be included in this package. The upper end of this price range is for very advanced characters with many complex features involved.
Character Skill Tree: €50-300 EUR.
Code for a fully functional skill tree for a new or existing character. The upper end of this price range is for very advanced skill trees with many complex features involved.

Welina by scotchmintz

A character mod by the wonderful scotchmintz. I was asked to work on a complex mechanic for this mod: Namely Welina's Resentfulness, described on the mod's page as follows:

"Harboring a deep hatred for those who wronged her, 30% of all the damage she takes from a mob, will be directly added to her own attack power against the same mob that dealt the damage to her, lasting until the mob dies.""On top of getting a damage boost against her target, Welina will also take 20% (10% from boss mobs) of the damage suffered as health trauma, which can be recovered by killing her target or booster shots."

Additionally, I worked on some miscellaneous things for Welina:

  • Added a custom action where Welina can interact with dropped items for a small sanity boost.

  • Fixed buggy behaviour with catcoons that were befriended with Welina's special Coonip item.

  • Resolved animation compiler errors.

Uncompromising Mode multiple authors

Uncompromising Mode is a huge content mod for Don't Starve Together, created by the community with the goal of increasing the difficulty of the game. Anybody can contribute, and I've had the privilege of doing so:

P.F.P. Enhancements

Another personal mod I made. This mod serves as an add-on to the titular Pickle's First Person mod, with its main goal being adding an upgrade to the skybox:

  • Features a dynamic skybox that smoothly changes between weather and seasons.

  • Adds a QoL hotkey to the mod that lets you use first person controls while accessing a menu.

  • Fixes a bug where the sun and moon would blink out of existence upon reaching the sky.

  • Adds a config that fixes a problem where some entities would stay visible in the horizon, even when they should be unloaded.
